A place with very high housing prices

I interviewed for a design position at the headquarters. It felt like they had not reviewed the interviewee’s portfolio or information beforehand, and they kept asking hypothetical questions such as whether I could handle the work. Who would answer that they couldn’t? They said that many people who had worked at 4A agencies still couldn’t do it. That’s strange—does that mean this company isn’t looking for professionalism? I get the feeling that this company has very little trust in interviewees, and the work culture doesn’t seem very good.
