I actually felt that the HR representative’s screening during the initial interview showed that she fundamentally did not understand the business. I assume she did not report my feedback to her superiors; she only conducted an HR-focused review of why I wanted to leave my previous job. I had originally planned to tell her that I was uncomfortable discussing past matters to avoid criticizing anyone. Of course, I could discuss them if necessary, but I felt that they should have assigned a business manager to conduct the initial interview. At the very least, we would know how bonuses are calculated, what benefits are provided, and how the company markets itself.
