They were very polite when contacting me by phone before I arrived.
Parking nearby is extremely difficult.
The office environment is dirty, messy, noisy, and smells of cigarette smoke.
The job duties are complicated and miscellaneous—you have to do everything, like a general helper.
The position combines administrative assistance with internal sales support, handling orders from start to finish: picking the goods yourself and calling the shipping company to collect them. (This does not apply to the 11 sales representatives in Taipei City and 4 in New Taipei City, whose work is only half of the full process.)
There is no fixed break time. You have to choose a time to eat when things are not busy yourself (the meal break is still one hour).
The salary listed on 104 was NT$34,000. When I went for the interview and reached the second round, the supervisor said the starting salary was NT$24,000 plus NT$2,000 perfect-attendance bonus and half an hour of overtime pay, because people who work slowly on the daily closing tasks would generally leave about half an hour late.
The average hourly wage is even lower than that of a part-time worker…
Starting at minimum wage, this position is only suitable for hiring inexperienced graduates and teaching them slowly, step by step.
They should not have advertised NT$34,000 and tricked people with work experience into coming for an interview, only to offer NT$24,000… They really have some nerve saying that.
