龍星企業股份有限公司
Pros

1. Stable business performance

2. The benefits aren’t outstanding, but for a company of this size with such stable business, they’re still fairly decent. There is a NT$75 daily lunch subsidy, and afternoon tea from time to time. It isn’t deducted from the employee welfare committee budget—the boss pays out of pocket. The year-end bonus is fairly average, usually just a little over one month’s salary.

3. Stable annual salary increases.

Overall, it’s a company where getting rich is impossible, but it’s quite good if you want to work steadily and build up your seniority.

Cons

1. The training is somewhat lacking. You have to find ways to ask for the knowledge you need. There is also a lot of new knowledge you’ll use at this company, so it can be more challenging for newcomers. You have to keep asking questions and systematically manage the knowledge you acquire yourself. However, most people will probably tell you what you need to know if you ask.

2. The people are fairly ordinary. Of course, there are difficult people, but most are reasonably nice. However, if you’re assigned to the sales team and a man and a woman are responsible for training you, pay attention to whether they constantly say things like “This company is a disaster” and “I hope I can graduate and leave soon.” If so, you absolutely need to put on a happy face and constantly cater to them. They may be fine at first, but after about six months they’ll start becoming impatient with you and speaking harshly. They’ll want to take charge but often won’t understand the situation themselves. Whenever there’s a problem, regardless of whether it’s your fault—or even if you haven’t encountered the situation before and mistakes are unavoidable—they’ll lecture you first as long as you handled it. Even if they later discover that it wasn’t your problem, they’ll still feel that you didn’t handle it properly, while showing themselves plenty of tolerance and leniency.

The key point is that if you ever get called out by them and become unhappy, they’ll do everything they can to get rid of you. So if you’re really unlucky enough to encounter them, bring out your most hypocritical side. You’ll need not only to cater to them, but also to do your best to make both of them feel that you’re on their side.
