Cons

It was pretty good at first and stayed that way for almost two years. This year, the company became a puppet of the Mainland factory manager: one of the nepotistic bosses, a second-generation heir, is incompetent and has started spending his time playing video games and binge-watching shows, repeating hearsay and saying all day that you don’t understand; the other looks down on employees and launches personal attacks—every meeting consists of shouting abuse, followed by claims that his scheduling is an art ordinary people cannot understand.

The boss trusts petty people. One of the second-generation heir’s enforcers goes around telling everyone to be careful about certain colleagues and reports everything to the boss, claiming that coworkers are secretly causing trouble. Even when it takes two years to set up a part number for a unit, a warehouse project is abandoned as soon as it encounters a minor obstacle, and grinding a few teeth off a saw blade is treated as the standard parameter.

The boss smears and spreads rumors, believing slanderous accusations that employees tampered with the surveillance cameras or accessed the back end of the tooth-grinding machine to change its parameters (but the company uses machines from Mainland China, and even external vendors cannot hack into the back end). All the good colleagues have left, one by one, to pursue opportunities at listed companies.

Both of the good HR staff members left the company. To cut wages, the boss started arbitrarily setting performance standards. Whether you actually receive the full salary shown in online figures depends on luck. Whether wages will be paid on the fifth of each month depends on whether the second-generation heir’s older brother has received instructions from his younger brother at the Mainland factory; if the instructions have not arrived, payment is postponed first.

On the production line, after people resigned, only two employees remained on the day shift. The boss was still smug, saying that this was a “changing of the guard.” No training or succession arrangements were made for the core technology. Some products come in, are printed with “Made in Taiwan,” then packaged and shipped. Anyone who wants to learn small-format inkjet printing should definitely go.
