Pros

Low pay, lots of work—one word from top to bottom: accustomed.

A fucking terrible company. Paying this kind of lousy salary in Taipei City.

Cons

1. Never believe what’s written on 104 Job Bank. It’s not tech-related at all. “Freedom!” is just the foreign company’s name; in Taiwan, it doesn’t count as a foreign company at all. Internally, there’s only one word to describe it: awful.

2. The employee turnover rate is extremely high. They basically only hire student workers, then see how easy you are to fool and how obedient you are. If you can be their puppet, they’ll ask whether you want to become a full-time employee. (Smart college students, don’t fall for it.)

3. Basically, the managers think that whatever they say is right. The executive director is the biggest problem in particular: they absolutely will not listen to employees’ suggestions. All the more senior employees who have left did so because of this.

4. Maybe they spent too long in the military and their brains got damaged. They think everything they provide is a benefit. Benefits are something you have to fight for yourself, and you’re supposed to be grateful to the company (you all hear that!).

5. This is a company that only bullies its employees. As described above, the problem is still with upper management. The managers and CEO are the biggest problems. Maybe they’ve been slaves for too long. Don’t be deceived by their sales talk: they can’t afford to give you bananas, yet they still want to hire monkeys. (See the salary information on 104 Job Bank for details.)

6. Basically, there are no real benefits to speak of. They don’t dare list their so-called benefits on 104 Job Bank because they’re probably afraid of being criticized, haha. As for the “free afternoon tea,” if you buy drinks and cookies, there’s still a spending limit, and you have to pay for the rest yourself. An extremely stingy company. (They want to treat people but aren’t generous enough.)

7. They cheap out on everything: salaries, payments to contractors, and benefits. They want to give you something but don’t want to give you too much, and they only think about the company’s own interests. Employees get absolutely nothing out of it. This is an extremely disorganized company. (They think they’re being really nice to employees.)

8. Even if you don’t come here for the money and just want to learn, you won’t learn much. You can get familiar with what the company does in one month; the rest of the time is just wasting your life. They specialize in tricking student workers. (Their sales pitch: “It takes a year to fully understand everything.”)

9. The job description is very misleading. It’s basically administrative work, not marketing at all. If you want to learn YouTube marketing or genuine social media marketing, I sincerely recommend going to another YouTube MCN or a different digital marketing company.

10. They constantly change their policies. They enjoy being slaves themselves, and they’ll also feed you a bunch of garbage, such as saying, “You’re on vacation, but the company doesn’t take vacations.” They expect you to work during your time off, and even when you take sick leave, they ask you to work. Of course, smart people won’t compromise with them.

11. The whole company is a disaster. Salaries are often paid late, and they even pay you incorrectly when you leave. An absolute nightmare!

12. Finally, there’s the company atmosphere. The employees themselves are okay with one another, but the atmosphere across the entire team, from top to bottom, is terrible. You can only blame the people leading the team; they completely failed to create a good atmosphere while thinking they were atmosphere experts. The biggest problem has already been identified above.

If you want to experience southern Taiwan-level salaries, come on over. You’re welcome :)
