There are lots of jokes.
1. The environment is like a warehouse, located somewhere with very little foot traffic. There is no parking either, yet they insist on running a retail store there.
2. In the first half of the year, they make a big deal of having a five-day workweek. When you resign, they deduct these days off from that pitifully low salary, and will very self-righteously say that you are paying back what you owe the company.
3. In the second half of the year, you are expected to completely accommodate the company’s scheduling. There are pitifully few staff members, even though it is clearly not that busy. When you request leave, they give you a dirty look and tell you to find a coworker to swap shifts with you, otherwise you will not be given leave.
4. The supervisor likes to play favorites. If you are on better terms with them, they will let you bully other coworkers!
5. The manager only does half of their work, but when something goes wrong, they completely shirk responsibility. They arrive late and leave late themselves, treating other people’s time as if it does not matter. They love to dump new work on you just a few minutes before the end of your shift and say it has to be done that day.
6. This is a completely lawless company. They do not even know that industries classified as special types must report to and be reviewed by government agencies before they can be authorized. Yet they are incredibly self-satisfied, claiming that they have already consulted a lawyer and therefore follow the Labor Standards Act to the letter!
7. To add to the previous point, even if they applied, it would not be approved because they simply do not meet the requirements. In short, this is an outdated company determined to cling to last century’s labor mentality, where workers are expected to give unconditionally! How could the company possibly be breaking the law or treating you unfairly?
8. There are surveillance cameras everywhere. If you prepare the newspapers for lunch two or three minutes early, you will get a phone call questioning you! It is perfectly normal for your departure to be delayed by 30 minutes or more! You are not allowed to eat breakfast at the company in the morning either!
9. National holidays have nothing to do with you; making up classes or lessons absolutely does.
10. Once a month, everyone has to come in an hour early for a meeting and report on their work progress. Even though you already have to write a work report every day, you are still forced to participate in this kind of time-wasting brainwashing activity! Of course, that extra hour is something you are expected to give the company. Do not even think about leaving early or getting compensation for it.
