Pros

The company has separate restrooms and also hires a cleaning lady, so the hygiene and cleanliness are good.

Individual workspaces are enclosed with partitions, so they are not easily affected by others.

Sorry, I can’t think of anything else.

Cons

The owner and his wife are both around 70 years old, but there is no successor, and the employees are also around 50. Honestly, I really don’t know how many more years the company can continue operating.

Clocking in and out is treated as the same record, and there is no overtime pay.

Apart from ordinary sick leave and bereavement leave, employees are restricted from taking leave on weekends or around national holidays, even when using their annual leave.

During my employment, the owner verbally agreed, after employees raised the issue, that “each person may take one extended holiday per year.” However, even taking one day off among Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday would attract criticism, and no one has tried it so far.

The owners require employees to handle their personal affairs and expect us to treat them like clients, under the pretext that “this is training for employees.”

This ranges from arranging itineraries, accommodation, and meals when the owner’s family travels abroad,

to handling the owner’s food at the company or solving problems when he does not know how to use his phone, even assuming that the phone is broken.

The owner’s personal matters waste an incredible amount of time.

You need to be on standby 365 days a year. The owner’s holidays are holidays; employees’ holidays are not necessarily so.

It happens very often that something decided in a morning meeting about how to proceed has changed by the afternoon.

Even when I sent the graphic design work to the owner every 1–2 hours for review, he would look at it and keep asking me to change this and that. After I made N versions, he would then ask me, “Why has this taken so long and still isn’t finished?”

When decisions turn out well, it is because the owner is brilliant; when they fail, it is because the employees handled things poorly.

Honestly, it is simply suffering.
