The interviewer asked whether I knew what our company does.
After I answered, they kept pressing: “What else? What else?”
I answered carefully, but they still weren’t satisfied.
They then changed their tone and said directly: “We’re a subsidiary of Flower Fairy!”
Then they started scolding me: “You came to the interview without doing your homework…” After scolding me at length, they continued interrogating me: “After hearing me say all that, what are your thoughts?
So, is saying that we’re a subsidiary of Flower Fairy more important than knowing about the company’s products and so on?
Although I knew, I couldn’t be bothered to say anything anymore.
They then asked: “Have you ever purchased folding cartons? This is a very important material for our company.”
I explained my experience at my previous job; I had indeed dealt with folding cartons less often.
However, I really didn’t think they were particularly difficult to purchase.
The interviewer then exploded again, scolding me: “You’ve been working for so long, and at your age you have no experience with folding cartons at all. I don’t know why you came to this interview. None of the purchasing experience you had before is what I’m looking for. You’re wasting my time.”
I was told directly: “I’m not going to hire you.”
This was probably the rudest and most absurd interview experience I’ve ever had.
The interviewer scolded the job applicant as if they were scolding a child.
Why call someone in for an interview without looking at their résumé first? If they had looked at it,
everything was clearly stated there.
