1. The company is located by a main road, and the area nearby is fairly lively.

There are convenience stores, restaurants, and many bubble tea shops,

so there are plenty of lunch options.

Position applied for: Accounting Staff

1. Location:

Based on the company address, it is fairly easy to find. It is a large corrugated-metal building by a main road. There is an address plaque to the right of the entrance, but no company sign.

There is also no company name displayed anywhere on the building, only the words “food company” and “frozen food company.”

2. Work environment:

After entering the company, the environment was fairly clean and okay.

The interview was in summer, and it was very hot. There was an air conditioner in the office (old and yellowed), but it was not turned on. Only two electric fans were running, so it was not cool and felt somewhat stuffy. I noticed that the other employees were all outside enjoying the natural breeze. The employee uniforms were very ugly.

3. Job duties:

You have to prepare shipping documents, count goods, reconcile goods with truck drivers, and know how to write accounting vouchers. There is an ERP system, but most accounts are required to be handwritten.

Cleaning (the office and restroom) is required every Wednesday.

4. Compensation and benefits:

Base salary of NT$24,000 + NT$2,000 perfect-attendance bonus = NT$26,000

(not including labor and health insurance, which are deducted separately).

There is no salary adjustment after the probationary period.

There is also no salary adjustment after completing one year.

5. The actual working hours are 7:45–17:00

(the job website states 8:00–17:00).

6. On the day of the interview, they asked me to start work the next day.

(HR was very satisfied with me and said on the spot that I had been hired.

After I went home and thought about it… I decided not to go and called to inform them.)

8. Regardless of how much work experience you have or how capable you are, the base salary is NT$24,000.

It feels like the company is quite harsh toward its employees. Apart from weekends off, there do not seem to be any other benefits.

Kaohsiung is extremely hot in summer, yet they are even reluctant to turn on the air conditioning.

The salary is fixed and will not be adjusted. This company can only provide enough to get by.
