The position I interviewed for was in overseas sales, and the written test plus interview took about two hours. The entire floor of the building was occupied by the same company, and the interior looked quite new. There were also other subsidiaries.
The interview process began with an intelligence(?) test covering Chinese, mathematics, number sequences, and pattern-recognition questions. The difficulty was probably around third-grade elementary school level... I guess.
Then I filled out an HR form containing basic information and 4–5 interview questions. Finally, there was a translation question requiring me to translate an English letter into Chinese. My hand got really sore from writing...
The interviewer was the best interviewer I’ve ever met. Huge shout-out to the HR interviewer!!
Basically, the interview was completely stress-free. It really was just an opportunity for the applicant and interviewer to get to know each other. I never felt like I was being “interviewed,” nor was there that top-down feeling. I think this is what the workplace should be like: employers and employees are equal and need each other. The company should interview applicants, but job seekers should also interview the company. The HR interviewer sincerely introduced the company and position, without concealing or misleading me about the company culture or systems. The interview questions mainly focused on understanding my past work experience; there were no tricky or deliberately difficult questions. I talked with the HR interviewer for a long time and about many things—I even wanted to add her on LINE XD
Based on what I heard during the interview, this company’s culture and systems seem to be fairly traditional. This position also involves long-term, habitual, unpaid overtime. Employees need to take turns arranging lunch for the boss, and the leave policy is relatively strict. Anyone who cares about company culture should definitely ask about these things clearly during the interview.
I’m not sure how long it takes to receive the interview results, because I had already decided during the interview that I would not join this company.
