It’s very relaxed when the boss isn’t around.

It’s awful. The boss only works behind closed doors. The promised training consisted merely of reading you a PowerPoint made by a former employee. All he does is give you a pile of books and have you turn them into a PowerPoint for him to review; he never shares what he knows with you. In the middle of the night, he would deliberately replace the fish fry you had raised with inferior ones, then berate you, asking why your fish fry were so bad. You cannot disobey any of his instructions. If you argue with him, he will call you into a small room and brainwash you for three or four hours. He will not let you leave unless you give in.

What’s even more ridiculous is that when your shift falls on a day you’re scheduled to be off, he will actually call you and ask why you didn’t come to the company. He’ll tell you that having a day off only means you don’t have to feed the fish—it doesn’t mean you don’t have to come to the company. If you want to take leave, you have to submit a leave request form. It’s completely absurd. The company can only ever deceive newcomers: in six years, it has kept a fixed staff of five employees, while 40 people have left one after another.
