The other colleagues were quite easy to get along with
During the interview, they said they had been looking for someone for this position for quite a long time.
They hired me on the spot (I’ll describe the actual working conditions below).
Throughout the interview, the boss spent more time probing the applicant’s reactions.
Here is what the actual work situation was like:
During my first week at the company, I was basically left to fend for myself.
On the first day, they only explained that I needed to coordinate and plan online and offline activities, and then expected me to become familiar with the company’s products within two days.
After that, they gave me no further instructions.
I could only rely on my own judgment, ask colleagues for advice, and plan what needed to be done next.
One day that week, shortly before the end of the workday, the boss handed me over to a certain department and hoped I could offer some advice. I stayed until almost 7 p.m. before leaving.
One evening after work, he sent me a “checking in” message.
Then he sent another message over the weekend... (BTW, there was no overtime pay.)
He asked me to present a proposal for the subsequent plan the following Monday.
????
(At that point, I was already thinking about resigning.)
Because he himself had no idea what clear and specific tasks this position should involve. He simply hoped the other person could accurately guess the marketing direction he had in mind.
I had only just entered this industry, and on top of that, I had not received enough information, yet he expected me to prepare a proposal.
I eventually produced one, but it was not what he wanted.
He then asked me to plan all of this year’s activities within “two days,”
as well as the posting schedule for the company’s social media platforms.
That morning, he even told other colleagues not to put too much pressure on me because I had just joined the company =.=
The next day, he said he would be out and asked me to give the report early. After I presented it, it seemed that it still was not what he wanted.
I had planned to resign the following day, but HR asked me about my work situation that day, so I resigned on the spot.
There was no systematic management or record-keeping for the marketing work.
They said they wanted me to organize events, yet they could not even provide records or plans from events held in the past. They expected me to create everything from nothing.
They were solely focused on trying to seize this huge piece of the market,
completely ignoring market research and market share. It was truly bizarre.
