Because of the pandemic, the interview was conducted by video. At the beginning, the manager did not even show their face, and did not introduce themselves or say which department they were from. They only partially showed their face later, which made a really poor impression. A few days after the interview, a manager from a certain department called to inform me that I had been accepted and would start the following month. I said that was fine, but mentioned that I was also applying for other jobs. The manager from that department immediately and decisively replied, “Then we’ll see if fate brings us together again.”
The impression from the video interview was already not very good. As the company’s representative to job applicants, the wording should be softened somewhat. It would be more appropriate to politely explain that we are urgently looking for colleagues and, if possible, hope to receive a response within a few days—or apologize and say that we may not be able to wait that long. I’m providing the above for other interviewees’ reference. Best of luck with your job search.
