1. A company with a great environment—snacks, drinks, and coffee are all provided, the views are beautiful, and there are lots of plants in the office, making it look and feel very comfortable.
2. The atmosphere at work is great, and everyone is really nice. There are many international colleagues, so it feels very international XD. Most people also have a great sense of humor.
3. I’ve worked at several other companies, and I genuinely feel that this is the company closest to achieving a real work-life balance. There are 20+ days of annual leave and 7 days of fully paid sick leave—an incredible amount. (I don’t know how I survived when we followed the minimum requirements under Taiwan’s Labor Standards Act XD.) As long as you arrange your work properly, your manager won’t give you a hard time or make you feel psychologically pressured when you take leave. In fact, they encourage everyone to use all their vacation days, so it’s not a case of having benefits you can see but not actually use.
4. The company is also very considerate toward its employees. Because of the pandemic, it responded quickly and announced that everyone could work from home. Any necessary equipment could be requested from the company. When taking equipment home, taxi fares could be reimbursed for safety reasons, so we didn’t need to take public transportation (so nice~). The company also provided an additional pandemic allowance (wow~ so incredibly generous), and the extra cash was genuinely very useful and noticeable.
5. I like the English classes. They bring in foreign teachers, and the classes take place during working hours—how great is that? The fitness classes are pretty good too, although they’re exhausting. The strength-training sessions make you sweat buckets, even though the company has shower facilities where you can freshen up.
6. Anyway, all my friends are envious. They keep asking whether there are any openings, or saying they regret choosing the wrong industry.
7. That’s it—these are my sincere personal thoughts.
If I really had to be picky, it would be that the commute is a little far from home, but the salary and benefits make up for it somewhat.
Also, because there’s so much food and drink, the company often celebrates things by ordering pizza or having group meals. There’s even an ice cream truck in the summer. I’ve gained too much weight, which is very troubling—the once-a-week company fitness class can’t burn off all those calories XD
Other than that, I can’t think of anything else. I personally don’t really relate to some of the comments shared by others and don’t have much of a reaction to them. I think it really depends on each person’s attitude and how they choose to face things.
