Pros

At Jingzhan, if you have a good supervisor, then there’s no problem.

But if your supervisor can’t protect you, accounting will mess with you.

Cons

I worked here for a year.

My salary was only 25,000. I was originally told that it would be increased once I transferred to the bakery. I worked so hard and worked overtime every day, but there was no overtime pay, and my salary didn’t increase either. When I wanted to return to my original department, HR even threatened me, saying that I could only go back as a part-time student worker and be paid hourly. They also made up some nonsense about there being no full-time openings. They were blatantly lying—so many people have resigned.

In short, while I was here, I built Jingzhan’s website backend, tested the newly launched system for every department, designed the logo and posters, issued invoices, prepared reports, entered data for every department, and helped destroy expired records.

Before the bakery opened, I supervised the construction work and ordered the equipment. Before the products had even been decided, I was forced to prepare quotations, cost estimates, BOM sheets, invoice ledgers, and customer and vendor lists. I also made the LINE bot and blog, as well as managing the petty-cash expenses that they spent recklessly.

Another outrageous thing is that they demanded lower costs, so they wanted to buy ridiculously cheap equipment and packaging paper from Taobao. They even started baking bread when the bakery had not yet been completed and the entire space was still full of dust. I heard that those batches were given to the boss’s contacts at the union or elsewhere. How pitiful.

Oh, right—even though their terms were terrible, they only wanted to hire stupid students who were still in school as apprentices, and they said they would offer very low pay. When they couldn’t find an apprentice, they also demanded that I wash dishes. I had to fight to get dish soap, gloves, and an apron; originally, I had nothing at all. On top of that, the designer hired by the bakery was completely incompetent and didn’t even know that the restaurant needed a hot-water installation. I had no choice but to get drinkable hot water from the common area to wash dishes.

Another unreasonable aspect was the workplace system. The useless baker and the art consultant, who only came in 10 hours a week, didn’t even understand my job responsibilities but still wanted to evaluate my performance. The baker was also very good at talking behind people’s backs and saying they did a bad job. The deputy general manager would only listen to the two relatives and demanded that I flatter them, speaking with disgusting gestures and tones—as if I were their prostitute.

Later, before I resigned, they even brought in an auntie who had originally applied to be a cleaner and had her take over my work?? She didn’t even know how to use Excel. She seemed to have reached her fifties without much social experience, and she started working before even negotiating her salary. At first, she refused to use her national ID number to purchase the disgustingly cheap bakery packaging paper that the deputy general manager and the others wanted to buy from Taobao, so she was going to resign. Unfortunately, she was too stupid and HR easily persuaded her to stay. Pathetic.
