The pandemic is raging, and the interview was conducted online.
Note: The first interview was with HR, and the second was with the manager. However, the process ended with HR.
1. I encountered the rudest and most unprofessional HR representative I have ever met in an interview.
2. They first asked me to introduce myself, and I spoke for about 30 seconds. They responded, “Huh? That’s it?” So I said I had prepared a portfolio and could share my screen to introduce my previous work experience directly. They replied, “No need. Wait until the manager comes and tell them.”
3. They then went back to asking about my work experience, shaking their head and snickering: “And then? And then? And then?” Their attitude was appalling.
4. I suspected they had not even properly reviewed my résumé. The questions were all unfocused, and their manner made me uncomfortable, making me reluctant to continue the conversation. I said that my résumé included detailed links to my work and accomplishments, and that I could explain them if needed.
They actually lectured me: “I can’t feel that you’re seriously selling yourself. How are you going to pitch to clients like this?” The job posting on 104 didn’t even say that the role involved pitching to clients. What is wrong with them?
Their condescending attitude was extremely off-putting, so I took the initiative to end the interview.
The HR representative’s attitude left me with a very poor impression of the company.
