The interview process was very relaxed. I interviewed for the position of Management Trainee in International Operations.

The first round was with the secretary, who confirmed some details on my résumé. It felt like she was taking notes for the manager and helping shorten the manager’s interview time. However, some of the questions were quite challenging—you need to have actually done something to talk about it; otherwise, you won’t be able to answer. They place a strong emphasis on the depth of your experience.

The second round was with the Vice President. The Vice President talked a lot about personality traits and asked about my travel experience, career plans, personal strengths and weaknesses, and the most difficult thing I had encountered in life. The Vice President was very direct and left plenty of time for questions. At the end, they also shared career advice with me.

Personally, I found this interview very worthwhile. It did not feel like an interview; it was more like an experienced elder sharing their experiences with me. Through chatting with the Vice President, I gained insight into their perspectives on different positions and their explanations of the fundamentals. I definitely came away with a different understanding of operations management.

The Vice President also seemed very intelligent and strict. If I were managed directly by them, the work pressure would indeed be quite high, but I would probably learn a lot.

The air conditioning was a little too strong, though.
