Once you push things aside, it keeps you from overthinking.
1. New employees have low starting salaries and are treated as disposable tools and errand runners.
2. Engineer Lin in Tainan (now an assistant manager) is very good at flattering his superiors, so whatever he says goes. He sleeps until noon every day and does not go to customer sites for maintenance or repairs; he makes the new employees handle everything.
3. When there are new employees, they have to cover the entire Tainan area and go as far as Chiayi. After exploiting them for 3–6 months, he gets rid of them, saving the company bonuses and year-end payments; the new employees’ welfare funds (dining expenses) also end up in his pocket.
4. Because he is the only person left in Tainan, the company will not take action against him. After getting rid of the new employees, he will not go to Chiayi either; he just acts coquettishly toward his superiors, and they assign support from Taichung or Kaohsiung. 5. His superiors (Pan X-qing, Zheng X-yao, and Zheng X-cheng) support and indulge him, so the people below can only obediently cooperate.
