When the boss interviews you, he answers every question and is very willing to explain all kinds of things (he’ll generally explain them to you like this).
After you join, you’ll find that the company’s turnover is extremely high. The boss has a strange personality and often goes back on his word. From the moment you join, the boss tells you to ask him if you don’t know how to do something, but when you do ask, he will only glare angrily at you or tell you to figure it out yourself. He is slightly more patient with women, but his patience does not last long; after a while, he will also start glaring at you and telling you to figure it out yourself.
For example:
※First, to clarify, Employee A’s duties do not include handling the company’s administrative work, including payment-request documents and so on.
Boss: Employee A, go deliver these documents to Client X, and deliver the payment request form at the same time.
Employee A: Okay (takes the documents from the boss), I’ll deliver them this afternoon.
The next day, after receiving a phone call, the boss questions Employee A.
Boss: Why did you deliver the documents and payment request form to Client X?
Employee A: Huh? Didn’t you tell me to deliver them? Did I deliver them to the wrong client?
Boss: No! You didn’t deliver them to the wrong client.
But I never told you to deliver the documents—that’s not what I said!
The payment request form was also missing several items and had incorrect amounts. Why did you deliver it?
Employee A: Speechless and unable to say anything.
Only at this point did Employee A learn that the client had negotiated the price with the boss, so the amount was not the same as the one originally listed on the quotation. However, the administrative assistant did not know because the boss had not said anything, and Employee A naturally did not know either because administrative work was not their responsibility.
Things like this happen every day. It feels as though the boss is looking for someone to yell at—he yells at you when there is nothing wrong and yells at you when there is. All he will tell you is, “I’m the boss. I don’t have to tell you anything.”
That is why the company’s turnover is so high; people are often left completely unsure of how they are supposed to do their work.
Of course, if you can accept that, go work there~
