Moved from a metal-sheet building to a newly constructed office building, making it more comfortable.
1. A very traditional family-owned business. It is probably packaged very well on the outside, but very Taiwanese at its core. All management positions in the company are held by family members; even getting a cup of coffee requires watching their reactions. Although coffee is said to be a free benefit, employees are not allowed to operate the machine themselves because it is expensive and they are afraid you might break it (someone once used it themselves and was harshly reprimanded). A family member must prepare it for you instead (there is one person specifically responsible for this).
2. There is a fair amount of internal infighting in the office because the supervisor and some employees dislike the management. They speak negatively about them in private but are very friendly on the surface. Also, perhaps this is simply the company culture: certain matters that should be kept confidential (here, confidentiality means information that you should not be the one to disclose to others) get leaked, and the secretary is very bad at keeping secrets.
3. The company has a very high employee turnover rate, with people constantly resigning. Even when working overtime every day, there is no overtime pay.
4. You are required to clean the office and restrooms and take out the trash. On the second and sixteenth days of each lunar month, you must also prepare offerings for worship and burn joss paper.
It is recommended that you apply only if you can accept working for a traditional family-owned business.
