(From the perspective of a part-time employee on the 3rd floor)
1. Customers are generally quite well-mannered, so dealing with them can be fairly easy (although there have been some jaw-dropping encounters, they are not frequent).
2. Most of the front-of-house supervisors and coworkers have fairly good tempers, and they are also quite patient when teaching you.
3. Scheduling is fairly flexible, with no required total number of hours.
4. Vegetarian staff meals are provided (an advantage limited to vegetarians).
5. There is a clear distinction between front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
1. Problems with the system + senior management mentioned in point 3 → severe staff shortages → high turnover among full-time and part-time front-of-house staff (creating a vicious cycle).
2. I once happened to glance at the clock-in records of full-time employees and saw records of people working entire days for several consecutive days without any break. Whether overtime pay was provided is questionable. However, part-time employees generally get regular breaks, and even if they take shorter breaks, the hours are still counted, so it is not too bad.
3. There is a senior manager who likes to cut costs and, without understanding the situation of frontline staff, lectures people or makes demands. Other reviews have mentioned this, so I will not elaborate.
4. Because the first floor is short-staffed, full-time employees may be reassigned downstairs; if you do not object, you may never get sent back up lol. Conversely, if the third floor is too busy, first-floor staff may also be sent upstairs to help. But if you are part-time, you will not be reassigned downstairs, so it is not too bad.
5. Because of point 1, large holidays, winter and summer vacations, and events can be extremely exhausting.
Although I am not a religious follower, I think working here part-time is okay. However, the more senior employees are indeed mostly religious followers XD. Since you are part-time, you will also have less contact with the person mentioned in point 3. But if you are sufficiently M or feel like you have too much free time, you can try challenging yourself by applying for a full-time position.
