I don't know what communication barriers there are between your company's HR and engineering team. The job posting said that experience with any backend language would be acceptable, but during the interview I was told that experience with anything other than PHP would not be an advantage at all for the job. The interviewer was also extremely impatient throughout the interview, apparently thinking that there was nothing worth discussing simply because we used different tools. The entire interview consisted of a sour expression, unresponsive replies, and a perfunctory conclusion—it showed absolutely no respect for the interviewee.
