Pros

1. The work environment is relatively relaxed. Compared with many high-pressure environments, it is less emotionally stressful.

2. Colleagues get along quite harmoniously, and there are relatively few problems involving malicious workplace competition.

Cons

1. The systems are poor. Many procedures have not been standardized, and there is no comprehensive employee training.

2. One of the owners assigns strange work tasks. For example, to comply with the Labor Standards Act, employees are required to clock out on time and then continue working until the job is finished.

3. Supervisors have a lax attitude toward their management duties, often making it difficult for employees to get things done or causing similar problems to recur and result in customer complaints. Employees have to handle many tasks that the supervisors do not want to do.

4. The company’s hygiene management is poor. For a place providing food and beverage services, it is absolutely below standard, making it difficult to eat there with peace of mind.

5. The company often treats employees disrespectfully. Changes made without notice happen frequently, and labor-management meetings are not held to coordinate major changes. In most cases, decisions are made unilaterally by the company and supervisors.

6. The supervisors have no real expertise in this industry. This causes many related problems, and they also lack the willingness to learn proactively or the attitude to respect and make good use of professional advice.

7. Former employees reported the company for violating multiple provisions of the Labor Standards Act. After the Labor Department’s labor inspection office came to investigate, the company showed no proactive attitude or measures toward improvement. It is currently still not fully complying with the Labor Standards Act. The owner and supervisors have chosen to exploit loopholes to avoid legal violations.
