Small company. The owner started out in sales, but after becoming the boss, he is extremely stingy with the sales staff and cuts costs wherever possible.

The salary is made up of base pay plus allowances. After labor and health insurance deductions, the actual take-home pay is less than NT$30,000. Labor and health insurance contributions are underreported despite the higher salary.

The first three days were an internship without labor or health insurance, which is directly illegal.

Last year, the office was located on the first floor of a building on Hankou Street in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City. It was extremely small, yet half of the space belonged to the owner’s own office.

The company had only one computer, which was given to the internal administrative assistant. If you went there to work, you had to bring your own laptop.

They save paper and ink. Sales daily reports are handwritten on scrap paper, and the boss marks them with a red pen. Is this an exam paper?

The entire company has no trash cans. The only trash can is in the restroom.

The boss is unbelievably stingy. He doesn’t turn on the air conditioning, closes the doors, and pretends the air conditioning is running.

When it gets really hot, he turns on the air conditioning but switches it off after only a few minutes.

At lunchtime, they don’t control whether you buy food and bring it back to eat; they even encourage you to finish eating outside.

Because there are no trash cans, you are also prohibited from turning on the air conditioning during lunch breaks because the boss is so stingy.

Incoming goods are piled up next to the restroom and in front of the sales staff’s desks, making the whole space feel very cramped.

The boss closes drawers and puts things down very loudly. After a while, you become mentally tense.

The job requires visiting industrial parks and factories, but the boss is extremely stingy.

The salary is less than NT$30,000, yet employees are expected to provide their own car and laptop.

If you drive the company car, you will be nagged constantly. It is an old car with 330,000 kilometers on it, yet the boss still tells you to take good care of it.

When driving the boss to visit clients, he will tell you to drive faster because you are in a hurry—“Overtake, overtake.” But if you get photographed by a traffic camera, he will make you pay the fine.

Employees earn less than NT$30,000, but ideally you should be experienced and immediately useful, able to provide the company with your previous clients’ contact list.

Only a few days after starting work, you will be repeatedly asked to organize the prospective client list you already have. If you refuse, you will be fired without severance pay.

It is obvious that the boss only wants to do everything himself and make money himself. He recruits people solely to obtain their client lists.

Only one internal administrative assistant is hired. When freight arrives, the administrative assistant has to move and stack the goods like a laborer.

Also, anyone interviewing for the receptionist position will definitely be interviewed by the boss’s wife. The boss’s wife is only willing to select ugly and overweight applicants for hiring.

Maybe she is afraid that the boss will mess around at the company.
