Colleagues get along very well.

Everyone genuinely wants to do a good job (with a few exceptions).

When everyone is away from home (at the Yilan worksite), we look after one another and develop a strong sense of camaraderie. When I was considering resigning, I really thought, “Where else could I find colleagues like these?!”

The boss has absolute authority—whatever he says goes. But in fact, there is also someone behind the scenes pulling the strings: the boss’s wife～～

The job duties agreed upon during the interview completely changed once I arrived in Yilan. In addition to being assigned different work, I was told I would be going to Yilan on business trips, but it turned out they actually expected me to be stationed there. The interview was extremely misleading.

If they had made it clear during the interview that this was not a business-trip position, I could have reassessed the opportunity. Later, after arriving at the worksite, I found that quite a few people had experienced the same situation as I did (the interview did not match the actual conditions).

The supervisor is impossible to communicate with and only makes sarcastic, dismissive remarks. His unwillingness to teach is very off-putting! It’s not that he necessarily has to teach us—there are many colleagues who are willing to help when we don’t understand something—but he has a poor attitude when assigning work and even makes indirect, insulting remarks.

The office environment is full of secondhand smoke, in clear violation of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act.
