The boss is very nice, salaries are paid on time, and working hours are punctual.

Honestly, setting aside the workplace bullying I experienced, this company is actually pretty good!!

The company is very old-fashioned and is essentially a family business. The boss and the boss’s wife are nice, while the junior boss has more requirements. However, if you can meet his expectations for the job, basically everything will be fine.

It’s difficult to take leave. Even when requesting the statutory annual leave provided for under the Labor Standards Act, the boss’s wife requires you to write down the reason for taking leave; you can’t simply write “annual leave” and leave it at that. In the end, the leave can still be approved, but it feels strange to have to state the reason for taking leave, especially since I never encountered this at my previous companies.

It depends on the department. Some departments are very harmonious, while I often heard that work was distributed unevenly in others. (That’s just what I heard; since I wasn’t in those departments, it’s difficult to verify.) Unfortunately, I encountered workplace bullying. It was said that most people in the company knew I was being bullied, but even if others knew, all they could do was look at you sympathetically while you were bullied by the senior employees. After all, what did it have to do with them? As long as nothing happened to them, that was all that mattered.
