Pros
I heard they provide a cup of water and a coaster.
Cons
Calling out Ogilvy—what the hell is wrong with Ogilvy?
Ogilvy social media junior position
At the beginning of October 2020, they proactively contacted my girlfriend. (I don’t know how long they had been looking to fill this position before contacting my girlfriend.)
They kept selecting and rejecting candidates throughout the process.
On April 1, 2021, HR finally contacted my girlfriend’s classmate, who is also my friend A. (A had applied two or three weeks earlier and had already been contacted; in fact, he had applied more than once. He guessed that he was contacted so late because he was only chosen after the others had been eliminated.)
I don’t know whether they will continue looking.
But for a position that only offers a monthly salary of NT$30,000—
A salary that is less than what you’d make selling bubble tea—
They can still spend at least half a year picking and choosing candidates, haha.
And they keep posting the position in all kinds of job-related Facebook groups and university department groups.
So, basically, the salary of a cleaner, but the selection process and standards of a CEO.
Oh, and I heard the HR person is quite nice (the one whose name starts with B), but the two managers who conducted the interview both looked very stern and spoke rather sarcastically.
Those managers are also pretty out of touch. They actually didn’t know that National Chengchi University’s College of Communication had already merged its departments and no longer separated advertising, broadcasting and television, and journalism.
They even thought the current program didn’t confer a degree, haha. It makes you wonder whether the managers really have experience interviewing new hires.
