Very idle; you can do your own things.
I applied for a position at the subsidiary, Yinyi Intelligent Manufacturing. The company was established only recently and has no orders yet, and its products are not complete. I don't know why they are recruiting an overseas sales representative. The job posting on 104 said “overseas sales,” but during the interview they told me it was a sales assistant position. So, were they lying?
After joining the company, no one trained me at all. I spent the whole day reading materials by myself, while the supervisor seemed busy with something every day and had no time to manage me.
Occasionally, I had to do miscellaneous tasks, such as taking inventory in the warehouse. Is this a clerical job or a sales position?
There were also many rules. For example, they even prohibited us from using the restroom in another building because the cleaning lady there had stopped working, so other employees had to clean it instead. Therefore, we were not allowed to use the restroom there. At first, they said we couldn't eat breakfast at work because of the pandemic. Later, they said we couldn't eat because people from the parent company might see us and report it to management. So basically, eating was simply not allowed; it had nothing to do with the pandemic at all...
It was unbearably hot in the summer, and the air-conditioning temperature was restricted. At first, they said it would be set to 26°C, which was still acceptable, but later it became 28°C... At 28°C in the summer, they might as well not turn on the air conditioner.
Just because the company needs to save electricity, do employees have to suffer?
The office was also very makeshift, and the environment was poor. The chairs were not office chairs but metal chairs, and sitting on them for a long time made my butt extremely sore.
The supervisor smoked, sometimes several times a day. Every time he came in, the smell of smoke was awful, and I happened to sit near him, so I really couldn't stand it.
The supervisor would embarrass colleagues in front of everyone during meetings, and he did so selectively. It made him seem narrow-minded.
Also, every Tuesday morning, we had to go to the rooftop to pull weeds. I don't know whether this is normal; I just wondered why they didn't hire someone to do it.
The colleagues were quite dissatisfied with the supervisor, but they were angry without daring to speak up. They only dared to complain privately and didn't dare to resign.
