Although nominally the company is managed by Japanese owners, it is usually Taiwanese supervisors who are responsible for giving orders (second only to one person yet above everyone else 😒). The plant is divided into a new facility and an old facility. The new facility mostly operates on a four-days-on, two-days-off shift schedule; the old facility has more fixed shifts. When interviewing new employees, the company places greater emphasis on whether you can cooperate with overtime and shift work. Simply put, they hope you will obediently follow orders and do the work, with the idea of sending you wherever there is a staffing shortage. The units most short-staffed are usually either undesirable or downright terrible positions. In just half a year, the number of people coming and going was more than I could count on both hands. Although this is described as frontline work, the workload and the salary offered are truly inversely proportional. When calculated carefully, it amounts to one person doing the work of more than two people. Moreover, in the pursuit of efficiency, quality is not given as much importance—isn't that putting the cart before the horse?

The working environment is also so poor: you have to inhale dust and methanol (you have to wear two layers of masks at work ↑), which is very harmful to your health. Methanol is actually prohibited, but because of the cost, employees' health does not seem to be that important to them (after all, they can just hire replacements when employees leave?). I also learned that many local people actually work here. For those who have worked here their entire lives, they may feel that this company is decent because their families have been supported by this salary. But times are changing, while the management style of the supervisors above is still stuck in the last century. No wonder they are constantly recruiting; there is a reason for the high turnover.
