The interview was extremely rushed—like they were racing against the clock.
I applied through a job bank and arranged an interview. Before the interview, HR emailed me asking me to fill out the company’s online application form, whose content was “100% identical” and whose fields were barely different from those on the job bank. This meant spending a great deal of time and effort copying and pasting the same text from one field to another.
The company’s standard application form even probed into private matters, including family members and their detailed personal information. Although, unsurprisingly, these fields were not mandatory, the layout also appeared not to have been updated since the last century: fields only five characters wide were expected to fit twenty characters.
The interview itself was unexpectedly effortless. The interviewer was perfunctory and careless, relying on clichéd questions made routine by the widespread use of the internet, such as: introduce yourself, why you left your previous job, areas of expertise and certifications.............. They had not even reviewed my application before the interview, yet still had the audacity to ask me to recite the entire résumé. Their absent-minded, lifeless manner of speaking made it seem as though they had been forced by a superior to recruit someone and were not doing it voluntarily.
After I finished speaking, they questioned me point by point as if conducting an interrogation. At the end of the interview, they merely said: “Your résumé does not show whether the expertise you claim is genuine, so you do not meet our requirements and will not be hired.”
As a result, I genuinely feel that this interview was a complete waste of my life. I would rather have spent the time programming.
