1. The boss makes highly risqué jokes (about sex and politics).
2. The boss makes personal attacks, e.g., commenting that someone’s calves are very thick.
3. The boss has a very poor sense of time.
4. The boss calls you late at night or on holidays.
5. The boss questions you and then denies whether he said something.
My experience:
Case 1:
At first, I was told that a second interview was required before I could be hired. However, I could not accommodate the proposed schedule and wanted to arrange another time with the boss. The following week, I received a call and was suddenly told that I had been hired. I had not yet decided whether to take the job, so I told the boss that I wanted to think about it. He then told me to go to the company to meet with him. At the time, I did not find this strange, but now I think it was quite odd: I had not been hired yet, so why would he ask me to come in? It became even stranger after I arrived. I showed up at the time we had agreed on, then waited for an hour and a half in a place without air conditioning or windows before seeing the boss. Another colleague was present at the time. According to that colleague, the boss had asked them to help move some things that day and had said that, 30 minutes after the agreed time, the boss had an appointment with a “vendor.” He did not say that the colleague had an appointment, nor that it was outside the agreed time.
Case 2:
Before I started work, I had not been told that I needed to provide my own equipment or assets. At 9:00 a.m. on January 2, I asked the boss in the Line group chat in a logical and courteous manner. The response I received was an evasion of the question followed by attacks on other weaknesses of mine, so I resigned before I even started working at the company.
A colleague’s experience at the company:
Case 3:
There was a religious ceremony on the first day of work. The colleague was not asked to prepare the offerings until the night before, and the boss was 30 minutes late the next morning, making my colleague wait in a place without air conditioning or windows, just as I had.
If you also have a terrible sense of time or enjoy bosses who make highly risqué jokes, you are welcome to join this company.
Best of luck with your job search.
