(1) There is no clear promotion system, and salaries are almost never increased. Moreover, various rules constantly change according to the supervisor’s mood, making the system so chaotic that it is difficult to understand.
(2) The company saves money in all sorts of perplexing ways. For example, when distributing trial packs of health food, only one piece can be given at a time—it would be better not to give them out at all. The use of various consumables is also strictly limited; for example, only two packs of paper towels may be collected at a time, and they must not be used up too quickly, to the point where they even have to be reused. The LC-MS room is unbearably hot because the supervisor says electricity must be saved, so only one air conditioner is allowed to be turned on. However, if anything goes wrong with the LC-MS, it is our fault.
(3) Since the company was founded by a retired professor from National Yang-Ming University, many supervisors come from National Yang-Ming University. Some supervisors harbor strong hostility toward graduates of other schools, especially graduates of top universities, and use insulting language to attack them.
(4) The boss tends to suddenly lose his temper, and when he does, he completely refuses to listen to anyone, even when it is clearly his own fault.
