Being forced to work an extra day for one day’s pay marked in red; clocking in and out four times a day (including break times); NT$500 is deducted for failing to clock in and NT$200 for clocking in incorrectly, all of which must be deducted from your pay. If you are late by more than 10 minutes or take personal leave more than once in a month, you lose the NT$3,000 perfect-attendance bonus. This means that if you have something to take care of, you can only take menstrual leave, and half a day’s pay will also be deducted. Employees take turns doing cleaning duty each week, and everyone also has their own assigned area to clean every day. You cannot eat at work, should talk less, cannot use your phone, and must keep your belongings in a locker. Before leaving after work, you have to open your bag for the counter staff to inspect. You work on a lousy laptop, take product photos with an iPhone, and must submit a daily work log before leaving work every day (they say this is used to determine incentive bonuses, which everyone is supposed to receive). Your salary can be paid in cash or transferred to a bank account (Shin Kong Bank). You receive NT$500 as a birthday gift. As for the NT$500 incentive bonus, everyone says it is supposed to be paid, but when it is not given, you have to chase after them for it as if you were collecting a debt. (These two bonuses are paid in cash and placed in the salary envelope, which you must sign and return.) The boss comes up with many excuses and takes a long time to pay them, which is very frustrating.
In short, the online department has an extremely high turnover rate. Employees can purchase products at staff prices, but there are few other benefits. Lunch break is from 2 to 3 p.m. Don’t waste your time going to the interview! Many people do not stay long and end up quitting on their own!
