The benefits are considered quite good for a private company in Keelung. There is a quarterly bonus, and the bonuses for the three major festivals are also generous.
You can bring your family to the year-end banquet. There is also a travel allowance available.
The amount of overtime is also considered low within the customs brokerage industry.
Senior colleagues are all willing to guide and teach others, and the office staff generally get along quite well.
There is no transparent promotion system.
Salaries are not adjusted annually, and the criteria for raises are unclear. (After working for more than three years, the salary is still NT$28,000.)
Your attitude and work habits may differ depending on which senior colleague you work with.
(I consider the differences potentially significant or minor, but I have seen senior colleagues require coworkers to follow their way of working, which I personally do not like.)
The work requires carefulness, attention to detail, and caution. If there is an error, you may have to pay the customs fees yourself.
Sometimes a mistake you make can cost the company a great deal of money, and you may lose your year-end bonus, so you really need to be meticulous.
There can sometimes be disputes between departments, and the office departments are often the ones taking the brunt of it.
