At first, I thought that as a foreign company, it would offer excellent benefits.
Although it is a foreign company, internally it is Taiwanese at its core.
This company is divided into the Marketing Department and the Sales Department. The Sales Department is further divided into the Distributor Section, the KA Channel Section, and the Engineering Section.
The Engineering Section is a very problematic department. There is no standard SOP for onboarding or job-transition training. KPI indicators are individual, but performance is calculated based on the section's overall results. The unit manager says this is to let everyone perform their own duties, but in reality, you have to do everything; otherwise, your annual KPI will be terrible. The manager is also very poor at dealing with new employees. Believing that strong work ability and industry connections give him the right, he often uses sarcastic remarks to mock newcomers or labels subordinates. If a newcomer makes a mistake, the department manager's tolerance is probably about 0.1. He either blames or scolds them. Then, whenever a subordinate shows some ability, one section manager will say things like, “You’re too confident. Confidence will be the death of you. You’re just putting your face out there to be hit,” and so on.
In short, in this department, if you do well, your manager will mock you; if you do poorly, your manager will scold you.
A traditional industry is a thousand-year-old industry, so a bad manager who has finally risen through the ranks will not know how to reflect on himself; he will only blame his subordinates.
So if you work under a bad manager, you will simply be mistreated every day. Think carefully about where the stage you want is.
After all, there are many Bole figures and swift horses, and many companies and paths to choose from across Taiwan. You decide your own life.
