Pros

The colleagues at the Kaohsiung Gangshan headquarters store get along very well, but this applies only to the “first-floor store staff.”

Cons

The company does not pay overtime; it only provides compensatory leave, and it must be taken in one-hour units, so 30 or 45 minutes do not count. They will even question why you let it run to a full hour and refuse to approve your application. On top of that, the company is constantly unable to recruit enough people, and understaffing means you cannot actually take compensatory leave—you can only work for free.

The salary is NT$26,000 plus bonuses, but you should not even expect the bonus, because unless it is a major branch, it is very difficult to meet the target. The company keeps lowering prices based on what competitors charge. The company’s quality was already terrible, yet it still engages in low-price competition, creating a vicious cycle that makes the performance target impossible to reach. Incidentally, the performance calculation is extremely unreasonable... Performance is settled every month, and any amount over 100% is used to make up for months in which you fell short. You only receive a bonus after all your previous “performance debt” has been paid off, so there is no bonus until then.

The year-end bonus is not much; after working for one year, you receive less than 0.2 months’ salary.

The company requires you to drive to other locations to exchange vehicles, but if something happens while you are driving the vehicle out, you have to pay the company’s compensation upfront yourself and then pursue payment from the person responsible afterward. They will also charge you for business losses, depreciation, and other items not covered by insurance. Whatever arrangements they make with customers, they make with you—even if you were instructed to drive the vehicle out, you receive no protection at all.

The company does not allow you to listen to music because they think you will not hear the phone ringing. You will be fined if you leave the air conditioning or electrical appliances on. In addition, the boss is very emotional and has a sense of entitlement, frequently berating people indiscriminately based on isolated incidents. Yesterday they say one thing and today they change it, and they cannot see reality, believing their company is the highest quality while continually lowering prices to wage price wars instead of improving the company’s value.

P.S. I also previously heard the boss laughingly say that this company is one of the few companies that can make money by collecting money from customers through insurance.

Only one computer in each store can be used to process customers, so if two groups of customers arrive at the same time, one has to wait. The equipment is also very poor and frequently crashes or freezes. The company’s system is terrible too. In this day and age, they still manually enter orders, have no member database, and have to ask customers for identification documents to photocopy every time. The headquarters still reviews the accounts manually, and receiving daily calls from the headquarters’ accountant asking about individual orders and bookkeeping issues is incredibly irritating.
