台灣三星電子股份有限公司
Pros

The Neihu office environment is fairly relaxed. The restroom is also reasonably clean.

There is a Starbucks downstairs.

Cons

On my first day at the company, I still remember that absolutely no one paid any attention to me.

I mean the kind of situation where it was as if an extra person had suddenly appeared beside them—

someone they didn’t know—and it simply didn’t matter.

Aside from colleagues who were familiar with one another chatting among themselves,

everyone else just buried their heads in their work.

The desks were arranged in rows,

so basically there was no such thing as personal privacy.

Computers had to be put away in the drawers at the end of the workday, or you would be reminded.

The supervisor also would not interact with you,

nor would they proactively ask you anything.

An externally appointed supervisor was treated like air;

subordinates ignored him and played on their phones during meetings.

As for the job responsibilities, no one provided any handover either.

The woman who was originally supposed to train me

seemed to smile only at handsome men.

Faced with such a complicated system,

I really had no idea how I was supposed to begin learning it.

With no one providing a handover while I was still expected to get up to speed,

and the person training me apparently afraid that I would learn,

I didn’t stay for very long.
