As for an engineer's work, it's basically testing and fixing various issues. If you come here, don't expect your coding skills to improve; if-else statements and basic structure are all you need. The only thing you can learn is how to clean up issues caused by anyone, moving toward becoming a debugging expert.

As for the salary... well... if you want to earn more (in northern Taiwan, it's not actually that much more), your performance has to be good. They guarantee you'll work overtime every day. Overtime is treated as an assumed responsibility: on the surface, they follow the Labor Standards Act, but in practice, when you submit overtime hours, your supervisor will block them using all kinds of excuses.

By the way, you also have to know how to pick which issues to solve. It's best to choose the simple ones, so it looks like you've solved a lot of issues and your performance will be good. If you're assigned to develop a new feature, you can only pray—your performance definitely won't be good, because it looks like you've only done one thing.
