The meeting room is very impressive.
During the interview, HR first had me fill out a self-assessment personality aptitude test. (There’s nothing wrong with that, but I have no idea where or how the results are used.)
Then someone from HR (apparently a supervisor) came over for the interview. They really just went through my résumé and asked questions based on it. It gave me the impression that they had only started looking at my résumé on the spot.
I was applying for a technical position, so later the technical supervisor came to speak with me.
After finding out that I hadn’t majored in a computer science-related field, they started trying every possible way to discourage me: “What you’ve been exposed to through self-study is still very superficial,” “If you haven’t taken formal courses, you won’t understand this knowledge,” “The technology used in our products is very deep,” “An interview isn’t just about the company finding someone; it’s also about the candidate finding a company. You should look for a job that aligns closely with your aspirations,” and “Do you really want to join our company?”
They didn’t give me any technical test afterward and simply ended the interview. I guess I probably won’t get the job.
....The problem is, your HR department was the one that proactively sent me this interview invitation, wasn’t it???
If you dislike candidates who didn’t major in the relevant field that much, then don’t send me an invitation in the first place, okay? Looking at it now, the line “We came across your résumé on OO Job Bank, and your education and experience left a good impression on us” is especially ironic. Did the manager of the department that’s hiring actually read my résumé? This is seriously ridiculous.
