The company retains the family name but not its employees—those seeking short-term positions, beware!

In a traditional family business, if the family keeps you on, never assume it is a stable, long-term job.

Once the system is stable, that also means it is time for you to leave, because the boss

will definitely find a reason to get rid of you. The boss is impossible to read:

when they need you and when you are considered worthless are worlds apart.

They may cut you because of COVID-19, cut you because of the China–US trade war, cut you because the company has no orders, or cut you because they think you are too idle and dislike the sight of you. You can be told to leave immediately, without prior notice.

This seriously violates the Labor Standards Act’s requirement to give ten days’ notice. It is an open violation!

They show no consideration and do not care how long you have worked there

or how much you have done for the company.

When they need you, they ask you and the company to weather difficult times together; when they no longer want you, nothing you do is right, and they collectively bully you—a common failing of traditional family businesses.

Because your surname isn’t Liu!! The job posting’s sob story said that the position had originally been filled by the supervisor’s younger brother, who suddenly passed away, and that the previous employee before you was dismissed because there was nothing for them to do—along with similar claims.

They said they hoped to find a stable, responsible job seeker willing to work with them long term,

but the fact is that their systems are unstable in every respect and have gone unattended for a long time.

When they say “stable,” they mean the system should be stable, not that your career should be stable. Think carefully!

It is a vicious cycle: the internal systems are outdated, and they are unwilling to update them. They only want to use them, not invest in them. Management knows the reasons very well. They say they will replace everything, but in practice they are unwilling to spend money—just a lot of empty talk.

The funniest part is the supervisor with the “tragic” surname Liu—he is actually an only child; the company does not even pay an annual bonus!

One password is used for everything and you are not allowed to change it—there is no understanding of information security whatsoever! Because the supervisor has a poor memory.

Unprofessional people lead professional work; all they want are obedient slaves without independent judgment. That is what it is like!
