Pros

You can cultivate self-discipline during the interview.

Cons

In the 104 message before the interview, they mentioned “a 50-minute written test (Android or C).”

However, at the time of the written test, HR brought out both an Android test paper and a C language test paper and required me to answer both, doubling the time to 100 minutes.

I raised this with HR on the spot, but they said it was the manager’s decision and told me to bring it up with the manager during the interview.

The test consisted of multiple-choice questions, about 40 questions per paper. Although they were not difficult, the formatting was frustrating, especially with code split across pages, code broken up awkwardly, and options that had not been proofread.

(The difference between “the text output” and “the out put of the text” could lead to disputes when judging the output in some questions.)

I handed in the test early.

At the beginning of the interview, the interviewer remarked, “You spent a long time on the written test, didn’t you?” So I brought up the issue with the interviewer.

The interviewer said, “We require different test papers depending on the applicant.”

I raised my concern again: “Before the interview, I was only told that there would be an Android or C language test, but in reality I was given both an Android and a C language test. This differs from the original message, and I believe that for a company of your size, something like this should not happen.”

The interviewer responded, “Did that affect you in any way?”

Me: “This is an issue of integrity.” I felt an anger rising inside me for no apparent reason.

The interviewer paused for a moment: “But didn’t we give you twice as much time?”

Me: “Time is not the issue. The issue is that what was said before the interview differed from what actually happened during the interview.”

The interviewer: “So how did this affect you?”

Me: “This is an issue of integrity.”

The interviewer was silent for a few seconds: “If you’re going to keep talking about this, then the interview ends here.”

Me: “Okay, thank you.”

I then packed up my things and ended the interview.

This was the first time I had felt displeased during an interview. For a company involved in financial transactions, integrity should be extremely important. However, they treated it as if it were not a serious matter and instead responded with, “Did that affect you in any way?” I felt extremely disrespected.

If you have the opportunity to interview with this company in the future, please think twice.
