- Arrived at the office entrance on time as scheduled, but there was no one at the reception desk. The phone line to HR was constantly busy, so I could only wait helplessly outside.
- A reception staff member eventually appeared, let me in, and checked me in at the reception desk. I continued waiting for HR.
- HR appeared 15 minutes later and took me to a meeting room, where I continued waiting.
- After another 15 minutes, someone finally came to the meeting room, but they were not the interviewing manager. They said the manager had unexpectedly gone into a meeting and they did not know when it would end. They engaged the candidate in a distracted, intermittent conversation for about 20 minutes, then said HR would take over first and that I could interview with the manager once the manager’s meeting ended.
- I continued waiting alone in the meeting room for nearly an hour, but no one appeared. I decided to ask the receptionist to contact HR or the person who had just come by.
- HR still did not show up.
- More than ten minutes later, the person who had come by earlier finally returned and asked me to continue waiting.
- I decided to say goodbye and leave.

- Two hours had passed, and throughout the entire process, I had only spoken with the person who came by for 20 minutes—and I had done the talking for 10 of those minutes.
- “Extremely disrespectful to the candidate.” The candidate spent time and energy preparing beforehand, as well as time and transportation costs on the interview day. Just because the interviewing manager said they had an unexpected meeting, the candidate who had been scheduled well in advance was simply left waiting: “As if it were only natural—you were supposed to wait. The candidate had no idea how long they would have to wait, and apparently the candidate’s time was worth very little.” I did not sense even the slightest embarrassment or apology.
- I received no follow-up or explanation from HR afterward.
