永慕企業有限公司
Pros

1. Although the company is an agency, the group it belongs to has many products, so making flexible use of them can be immensely beneficial.

2. Sales staff in northern Taiwan may be provided with a company vehicle.

Cons

1. The company’s main business is forklifts and material-handling equipment. Other products, such as automated warehousing equipment and autonomous vehicles, have a small market in Taiwan and are difficult to fully utilize. Technical issues also require assistance from the original manufacturers overseas. Due to the pandemic, the manufacturers’ technicians currently can only provide support via video calls. After-sales maintenance cannot be handled by technicians who only know how to repair forklifts.

2. Sales salary and bonuses: The base salary is somewhat better than that of competitors at large companies. There are bonuses for the three major holidays, but no year-end bonus or employee travel allowance. There is an annual banquet, but no lucky draw. Within the first three years of employment, the annual sales target is NT$20 million (originally NT$10 million); after three years, it starts at NT$30 million. A 1% bonus is paid only for products sold above the minimum price. In northern Taiwan, there are too many competitors, so it is common to secure an order without receiving a bonus. There is also no system for inquiring about bonuses for products without a minimum price.

3. The turnover rate among support staff is high. This industry relies heavily on support staff; otherwise, the sales team has endless problems to clean up.

4. The company represents international brands, but their name recognition in Taiwan is low. Sales staff need to be exceptionally capable, and the manager is highly skilled at pressuring employees, focusing solely on results.

5. Training: There are occasional courses during monthly meetings. Initially, the work mainly involves cold-calling for business development. Product information is available in Simplified Chinese, but most of it is in English.

6. It is a family business where the owner has the final say.

7. When the company believes you are no longer useful, it will have your manager pressure you to resign. The severance pay is decided by the manager, and in most cases, there is none.
