I got an offer as soon as I went to the interview. At first, I didn’t think much of it—it was just a job.

Later, I realized that the boss often brought her personal emotions into the workplace. When she was in a bad mood, she would casually yell at people.

But I let all that go. It’s part of everyday life, right?

Work that had not originally been assigned would suddenly multiply during meetings, followed by accusations of inefficiency. (You never even said we were supposed to do it.)

They don’t even have a very good understanding of their own company’s situation. Factory communications never use official email; instead, they casually create WeChat or LINE groups.

They call themselves a boutique home-furnishings brand, but in reality everything is outsourced to factories in China. Some factories even went out of business during the pandemic.

They claim to be a boutique brand, yet they won’t even spend money on tasteful packaging design, packaging materials, or protective cushioning supplies. How can they still call themselves a boutique brand?

The worst part was colluding with the Administration Department to set things up and fire people for no reason.

One morning, the boss decided with her husband and the “Administration Department manager who had just taken office that month” that I would be dismissed. I didn’t even know the boss’s husband had anything to do with the company. Had he ever seen anything I had done? He had only been in the office twice, and I had never even seen his face clearly.

Then they had a “colleague from my department” tell me that I was going to be fired. My colleague was helpless too—it wasn’t their decision to fire me. And I hadn’t done anything wrong.

At noon, I was directly told to go home, while the boss and the Administration Department manager “never personally told me” about the dismissal decision from beginning to end.

They told everything to my department colleague and then had my colleague break the news to me. Is that respectful at all?

At first, the Administration Department manager did not even want to attend the meeting. She only showed up because the boss demanded that she attend.

During the meeting, the manager merely took the documents and left without saying a word. Did you fulfill your responsibilities?

Or did you just push the work onto colleagues whose roles had nothing to do with HR? You kept saying you were extremely busy, but I honestly couldn’t see what you were busy with.

Oh, and the boss left immediately after the meeting. I didn’t see her again at all.

The benefits we initially had (such as something as minor as lunch breaks) later became, “You’re new, you can’t do that,” simply because the Administration Department manager disliked me.

She never told me directly either; she always had a colleague from my department relay the message.

If you want to manage people and think I’m doing something wrong, talk to me personally. I would have obediently followed your instructions.

But what is the point of saying nothing to my face, then privately complaining and criticizing people everywhere?

If you want to manage people, then do your job properly. What’s with pushing everything onto others?

I didn’t know I had to curry favor with you just to get through a workday. I don’t even get paid by you; my direct superior reports straight to the boss.

The boss hasn’t said anything, so what exactly is the Administration Department manager’s role here?

You loudly complained in the office about how much the counter staff at each branch hated one another, spending all day gossiping about people. If someone didn’t join you in complaining, you treated it as opposition.

Sorry, but I don’t casually criticize or attack people I don’t know or understand. I don’t want to get involved in this mess, and I don’t want to dance to your tune.

At this company, you also have to be careful of people in the boss’s inner circle meddling in company affairs and stabbing you in the back. It has nothing to do with your work ability; it only depends on whether those people in the inner circle like you.

You’d better not come here.^^
