The work environment is fairly clean and tidy, colleagues are reasonably considerate toward newcomers, and there is a fixed year-end bonus.
They want to hire a monkey but can only afford bananas.
A family business, with absolutely no opportunities for advancement.
Even communicating with the supervisor in a constructive and rational manner is labeled as talking back. Afterwards, the supervisor goes straight to upper management to complain that the people below like to talk back and are unwilling to learn.
Having your own opinions gets you labeled as unconventional or someone who likes to talk back.
