The company is preparing to establish another sub-brand called “沐水堂文創有限公司.” I applied for the graphic designer / web designer position. 沐水堂文創 has three product directions: representing foreign cosmetics, independently developing pet products, and representing foreign medical supplies.

The interviewer described the origins of the products and the work responsibilities after being hired. At first, when I heard that there were pet products, I thought I had hit the jackpot because it was exactly what I wanted. However, as soon as the interviewer mentioned that the company would not enroll me in labor and health insurance during the first three months, I immediately crossed the company off mentally. Under the Labor Standards Act, employees should be insured from their first day of work; even if they work for only one day, they must still be insured. A company like this is extremely irresponsible.

After reviewing my portfolio, the interviewer first asked which company I had previously worked for. Answer honestly.

Following up on that question, why did I leave?

Answer honestly. In my case, it was because the travel agency happened to be affected by the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, which caused the company to have no income or cash flow, so it laid off half of its employees.

Following up on that question, if the company’s situation improved and they asked me to return, would I go back?

My response was: It would depend on whether I had found a job and whether I liked the work environment at that time.

Why are you especially interested in working in the pet industry?

This question came up after I listened to the interviewer explain the company’s own products and told the interviewer that I had always wanted to work in the pet industry. My answer was that I have pets at home, so I would like to work in a related industry.

Are you married or single? Do you have a girlfriend?

I answered according to my personal preference, since these questions came up later during casual conversation.

To be honest, although the process was not unpleasant to the point of being unbearable, I personally felt very bad about it. Simply failing to enroll employees in labor and health insurance during the first three months violates the Labor Standards Act. This is a very irresponsible company.
