Cons

The position I interviewed for was an overseas development and order-follow-up role in Vietnam. It involves being assigned to Vietnam and handling orders from development through mass production. There are four trips back to Taiwan for leave per year, seven days each time (the Lunar New Year holiday counts as one). Accommodation is provided in Vietnam. However, transportation must be arranged personally and then reimbursed. The job requires communicating with Japanese clients, so excellent Japanese-language skills are necessary. When clients travel for business, you need to arrange their itineraries and receive them. The pressure is quite high!

My expected salary was NT$45,000, plus an overseas assignment allowance of NT$1,000 per day and a meal allowance. I was clearly told that this salary could not be provided.

Being assigned to Vietnam means sacrificing not only your social life and time with family in Taiwan. You also need to consider that local medical care and public security are not as good as those in Taiwan. For a position involving high risks and high pressure that cannot even offer an annual salary of NT$1 million, it is better to think twice.
