The interview process was very ordinary. It was basically just questions about and an understanding of my past experience, so I won’t go into further detail about the questions.
But there was one thing that left an extremely deep impression on me: the interviewer’s attitude was very uncomfortable!
“Interviewer: Your family has two properties in Taipei and New Taipei, so you shouldn’t be short of money!”
I was like, what?! 🧐🧐🧐
Who decided that having two properties means someone isn’t short of money? Maybe the properties are very small; maybe the mortgages haven’t even been paid off yet.
Besides, that’s my family’s business. I was applying for a job, so the focus should have been on me. What does my family’s financial situation have to do with anything?
Even if we do have two properties, they were earned through my parents’ hard work over their entire lives. I want to rely on my own efforts to achieve what I want—is there anything wrong with that? What right did the interviewer have to use my family’s financial situation against me…
If I really wasn’t suitable for the job, they could have politely completed the interview process and simply chosen not to hire me.
Why invite me to an interview only to humiliate me in person over my family’s financial situation?
The interviewer also appeared to be somewhat older. To have lived this long and still not know how to conduct oneself, and to be so rude—I’m speechless....
