I can only say that the colleagues are easy to get along with—but this does not include some senior managers.
During the interview, the boss may offer you a high salary right from the start, but within three months, she may decide that you are useless. If she takes a dislike to you, she may dismiss you that very day; otherwise, she will cut your salary. Once she starts cutting it, she becomes addicted to doing so.
The female boss really likes humiliating people in public. She thinks she is the most capable and often deifies herself, saying strange superstitious maxims. One moment it is “Amen,” and the next it is “Amitabha.” Episodes from the Three Kingdoms are also frequently acted out.
She never treats employees like human beings and never trusts them. She may dismiss you because she thinks your clothes are too unfashionable, or because she thinks you are too alluring. She may also dismiss you because you are always holding your phone and chatting on LINE. In any case, the reasons for dismissal could probably make it into the Guinness World Records. But she likes dismissing people and does not like paying severance. This is really…everyone, please remember to protect yourselves.
The company has more surveillance cameras than a bank—there is practically one above every employee’s head. The boss watches from the office every day to see whether you are at your desk or what you are doing on your computer screen. I heard that the phones may also have monitoring devices installed (that is only what I heard). In any case, it feels every day as though she thinks you are going to steal something from her.
She tries to take advantage of employees in every possible way. The year-end bonus is divided into two payments: one at Lunar New Year and one in July. But if you are dismissed before then, sorry—everything is confiscated. For the Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival, benefits are based on your length of service; employees with less than three months’ tenure receive nothing. The payslip contains all kinds of strange line items, so the salary you receive each month is not actually your base salary. The year-end bonus is calculated using the base salary. Basically, if she can scrape off even a little, she will.
This company is mostly about managing people, not getting work done. Every day, you only need to guess what the two bosses are thinking—but you will never guess correctly, because once you tell her what you really think, the next step is goodbye, bye-bye.
